Hi Bill!
Ahoy and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am excited to hEAR you have a Disney Cruise Line vacation planned for next Spring and are already considering another one for the following year! If you’ve sailed with Captain Mickey before, you are aware of how fantastic they are, and if you haven’t yet…well, let me tell you... they ARE fantastic!
Booking a future cruise while onboard definitely has benefits and I always recommend
booking another adventure at sea while onboard! For one, it makes the end of your vacation a little easier since you know you will be back again, and you also can take advantage of the onboard booking discounts and specials! So, you can most definitely book while onboard and you have a few options in how to do so! If you know exactly when you want to sail and those dates and itineraries have been released, then definitely book that exact voyage while onboard. From my experience, pricing only seems to go up as the voyage gets closer, so booking as far out as possible is a great idea! If the dates you are looking to travel have yet to be announced, then you can book a placeholder which is just that…it saves a place for you on a future cruise while still getting the full advantage of the onboard booking benefits. Currently those benefits include a discounted deposit and a discounted rate on the voyage plus a credit to your onboard account for that future cruise! So, yes…there are definitely benefits to booking while onboard.
Disney Cruise Line will
typically release their schedules anywhere from 15 to 18-months in advance, so keep your eyes and EARs open at
Disney Cruise Line and
Disney Parks Blog for future voyages and itineraries! With three new ships joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet in the next few years, I am eager to find out where Captain Mickey will take us next!
As you continue planning for your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation, please come back with all your planning questions you may have!
Happy Sailing!
