I'm a disabled veteran with a 7-month-old daughter. I'll be using my own manual wheelchair due to limited mobility. I often babywear using a sling or lap belt while my husband pushes us in the chair. Is this allowed in the parks?

    Hi Lindsey!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! First let me say a big 'Thank You!' so much for your service to our country. We're a military family too, and I love so much spending our family time at Walt Disney World Resort as a way to take a break from the world of recognizing ranks and alphabet soup.  Be sure to add 15 minutes into your Magic Kingdom Park day for the daily Flag Retreat ceremony as an extra special nod to all service members both past and present.

Another thing I love about Disney Parks is how accommodating they are for families and people of all ages, including super brand new babies and those who need assistance getting around. Babywearing is so common place that parents are more than welcome to front-wear their children on almost every 'all ages, any height' attraction across all four of Disney's theme parks. As far as wanting to hold/wear your child in your lap while moving around the property, you will see tired children not-walking in the most creative of ways. While there isn't an official policy if children can or cannot sit with a buddy who is in a wheelchair or an ECV, basically as long as everyone is playing it safe and your child is happy, Disney is happy.

There will be times when you will have to transfer from your chair to a ride vehicle, but as long as your daughter is snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug-getting-a-hug she should be fine during the transition.

We'll See You Real Soon, Lindsey!
