Heya, Enid! Welcome to planDisney! First and foremost, I’d like to thank you for your service. I’m so excited to hear that you're planning a return visit to the Disneyland Resort, and I'd be delighted to help you make it as smooth and magical as possible!
It's wonderful that your furry friend is a medical alert service dog! The Disneyland Resort is happy to welcome trained
service animals who provide assistance to their handlers. Just like Pongo and Perdita always stick together, it's so important to keep your service dog close by your side. When it comes to his stroller, you'll be glad to know that strollers are indeed permitted in the parks! However, they do need to meet specific size requirements to ensure everyone has a “pawsome” time navigating the pathways. You can fetch all the
details on stroller dimensions right on the Disneyland website. Currently, strollers larger than 31" x 52", along with wagons and stroller wagons, are not permitted in the parks.
The fantastic Cast Members at the security entrances ultimately have the final say on whether your stroller can join you on your adventure, but if it fits within the maximum dimensions, you should be good to go! Even when he's in his stroller, your service dog will need to be on his leash or harness throughout your entire visit, keeping him safely by your side for every magical moment. Think of him like Pluto, who's always adventuring with Mickey!
To help you and your best pal have the most "pawsitive" day ever, here are a few magical pro-tips! Consider taking breaks in quieter areas, like the benches around Main Street, U.S.A., or by the Rivers of America, to give your dog a chance to rest and recharge his batteries. Staying hydrated is key for everyone, so remember to bring water and a bowl for your furry friend throughout your adventure. There are several
water bottle filling stations located throughout the parks. And don't forget to capture those precious moments! A photo with your dog in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle is sure to be a treasured memory. Every wag is a wish come true when you're making magic together!
For more tails—er… details!—about visiting the Disneyland Resort with your furry companion, check out the
service animals page. You'll find information on everything from where to locate designated relief areas (so your buddy can take care of business!) to which attractions welcome service animals aboard. Be sure to also take a look at the
Sensory Experience Details guide too; it's super helpful for understanding what to expect on each attraction and ensuring a comfortable ride for both you and your dog.
For personalized guidance regarding your unique situation, especially given your past experience, I’d also highly recommend sending a message to Guest Services. You can find their contact information at the bottom of the same
service animals page I mentioned above. They're the experts and can offer the most precise advice for your upcoming visit.
Enid, I hope this helps you and your furry hero confidently step back into the magic of the Disneyland Resort. May your visit be overflowing with delightful discoveries, magical moments, and all the ear scratches and happy barks a dog (and his human!) could wish for!
