Hiya, Sara, and welcome to planDisney. First, I'd like to share my appreciation for your service and sacrifice for our country. The ability to walk down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. and sing "It's the heart of America, the heartbeat of a holiday!" is a freedom we have thanks to families like yours. Thank you!
To plan your vacation in the magic, the
Walt Disney World website puts some power in your corner now, some punch, pizzazz, yahoo and how. Let's rub that lamp!
I start planning by checking out the
special offers on hotel stays and theme park tickets. There are
deals on resort reservations for military members, including active duty, retired, and disabled veterans with DAVPRM status. The current offers are for this year, and resort reservations are available through 2025, but you could get an idea of where you might like to stay ahead of time. Walt Disney World is also home to
Shades of Green, a resort operated by the military for its families. This resort is booked separately through Shades of Green but has many benefits of staying at Disney, like
Early Theme Park Entry.
If you stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can book a
vacation package that includes your resort, theme park tickets and add-ons, like a
Disney dining plan and
Memory Maker. To take advantage of the military offers, including the reservation and adding
Disney Military Salute tickets to your package, you can call and speak with a Cast Member at (407) 939-7830 or the number listed on the page with the military promotion. Depending on the dates and resort type, this offer can save up to 30%. I always compare all the offers that may apply. I also like shopping for Disney vacations, especially when I can save money.
If you book a resort separately, you can purchase the Military Salute tickets at a base, Shades of Green or Walt Disney World theme park. These offer discounted rates for 4-, 5- and 6-day tickets, and you can choose one-park-per-day or the Park Hopper option. Since these are not date-based tickets, they require
theme park reservations. They must be activated at Guest Services at the start of your vacation and are subject to a few blackout dates. We have spent many vacations at the Most Magical Place on Earth with our retired military friends. These tickets are a great value!
Perhaps the most challenging question to answer is "current park information" for a trip in the next year because so much is happening at Walt Disney World! The Disney Parks Blog is my go-to source. This article on
all that is coming in 2025 may give you a glimpse into some of the upcoming magical offerings and experiences. And if you plan on coming in the spooky or winter holiday season, the Blog will give you a
shriek peek of all the ghoulish and yuletide treats.
Sara, if we can help with any other questions as you plan your vacation, please come see us again. You ain't never had a friend like
planDisney!
