Im a disabled vet. in Feb of 2020 I purchased hopper tickets through MWR. Because of the pandemic we cancelled our trip. Ive been reading in this site that they still have value. Is this true? If so, what is protocol? TY Matthew

Hi there, Matthew! Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by!

First, let me truly thank you for your service. As a military spouse, I understand how important quality time is and I can't think of a better place to spend that time together than at Walt Disney World Resort! While there are so many reasons I love The Most Magical Place on Earth, my favorite is how they care for all of their Guests from all walks of life – including their veterans. Matthew, I'd love to help you with your Disney Military Salute Tickets!

Typically, Guests can apply the value of their unused, expired tickets towards the purchase of a new ticket. However, the steps for you may be slightly different than the average Guest since you're hoping to purchase a new Disney Military Salute Ticket! I spoke with a Cast Member about your situation and these were the recommended next steps:
    • Reach out to Shades of Green (and have your tickets handy)! Explain your situation and ask if you can apply the value of your unused, expired tickets toward new Disney Military Salute Tickets. Please note that, at the time of this writing, Guests will only be able to purchase Disney Military Salute Tickets for 2023. If you would like to purchase Disney Military Salute Tickets for 2024, try waiting until later this fall when new promotions are often released for the following year. The benefit of purchasing through Shades of Green is that your tickets will get mailed to you activated and ready to be used!
    • Alternatively, you may want to reach out to Military, Welfare, and Recreation at your local base. Ask if you are able to apply the value of your unused, expired Disney Military Salute Tickets towards a new ticket. If so, they will be able to walk you through the next appropriate steps for this exchange.
    • You can always call a friendly Cast Member in Existing Tickets! They will be able to listen to your situation and help you with the next best steps that are available to you. Remember, Disney Military Salute Tickets cannot be purchased through the Walt Disney World website, so while they may be able to give you guidance on your next steps, they likely won't be able to make this exchange for you. Please note that you may be required to pay the difference in the price of the new tickets!
    • Once you have purchased your tickets, make sure that you link them to your My Disney Experience account and make your theme park reservations with the Disney Park Pass system!
I hope I was able to point you in the right direction today, Matthew! I'm wishing upon a star that your upcoming trip is an extra special one, and please write to us again with any other planning questions you may have. We're here to help!

You've got a friend in me,
    Michelle
