Hiya Kari,
Welcome to planDisney! I was just chatting about the special offers for Military Service Members with my mother. As a child of veterans, we frequently used that discount to enjoy family vacations at Walt Disney World when I was little. I’m so happy that the discounts still exist and that Military Service Members and their families can enjoy these magical vacation moments together.
Currently, Kari, two special ticket offers are available for US Military Service Members:
Military Salute Tickets and
Magic Your Way Tickets. The current criteria for eligibility for the Military Salute tickets are active duty or retired US military service members, which includes National Guard, US Coast Guard, US Space Force, Reservists, Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service, Commissioned Corp of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and veterans who have 100% disability status. Magic Your Way tickets can be purchased by veterans with less than 100% disability status. As a veteran with 100% disability status, you are likely eligible for both of them. You can purchase up to six tickets; one must be used by yourself or your spouse (the remaining five can be shared with family). So, now that we’ve discussed eligibility let’s talk about activation. You must accompany your family on vacation to show your valid and active US Military ID to activate the tickets. Once activated, a Cast member told me that your family could use the tickets without you, but you will need to be present for activation. Tickets can be purchased at your nearest participating military installation’s ticket office, through
Shades of Green, or at a ticket window at Walt Disney World!
I hope this was helpful, Kari. Before I let you go, even if you don’t go on a single attraction at Walt Disney World, there is still so much to enjoy during the holidays. There is the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays (my favorite festival), holiday gingerbread displays, and shows! My mom actually went to Walt Disney World without me last December (I’ll forgive her because I was giving birth two days after she came back) and did the entire vacation without riding a single ride. I helped her plan it, and she just walked around enjoying snacks, watching parades, and meeting Disney characters. She had a blast! If you want to go on vacation, please come back and see us; I would love to help you plan your vacation so that you can enjoy it fully.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
