Welcome to planDisney! This has truly felt like a great season of change at Walt Disney World Resort.
Cinderella Castle has returned to its pre-50th Anniversary colors.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin just reopened with exciting new updates.
Animation Courtyard is also reopening soon. I know I am excited about all the transformations, but I completely understand that each new change can bring some sadness.
Speaking of the transformation, we do not yet have a specific date for when the entire
Port Orleans Riverside refurbishment will be completed, but the process is currently estimated to last through August 2027. When I spoke to a Cast Member, they shared that most of the Royal Rooms have been completely renovated, with all to be completed by next month. Which means that, unfortunately, you will likely not have the opportunity to stay in a non-refurbished room during your visit in September.
I wish I had different news to share, Julie, but I hope that you found this helpful. I’m so happy to hear that you and your children have such incredible memories associated with Port Orleans Riverside, and I’m sorry that the new changes have you feeling hesitant. Hopefully, when you visit in September, you fall in love with the new Royal rooms. From the images I’ve seen, they still do a phenomenal job at celebrating my favorite princess, Tiana, in a modern way. If there is anything else you need, please come back and see us.
