Ahoy there, Joseph!
I'd love to help you as you consider a Disney Cruise aboard the soon-to-debut
Disney Destiny. With Mickey and Minnie at the helm and legendary stories of heroes and villains unfolding around you, a cruise aboard the Disney Destiny will be unforgettable.
With an end-of-January voyage from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas, there is some chance of rough or choppy waters, but nothing I would say you would need to intentionally avoid. While storms can come and go at any time of year, the Disney ships have stabilizers to reduce the motion as much as possible. If any guests have concerns about the motion they might feel onboard, I suggest that they speak to their doctor about potential prevention measures. I personally bring acupressure bands to use just in case we encounter rough waters.
The Bahamas in January typically offers delightful temps in the mid-70s to low 80s (F), with sunshine galore and just a light breeze — perfect for beach days, snorkeling, or relaxing poolside. With a Disney Cruise, you'll find a plethora of activities and entertainment to enjoy while on the ship. There will be
something for everyone in your sailing crew!
As this would be your first cruise, please take a peek at
this helpful information to prepare for your sailing, and please return to planDisney if you have additional questions. We'll be here for you!
Happy Planning,
Adrianna
