I’m debating on getting myself an AP. How would that work if others in my party don’t? Can we still add dining?

    Hi Kristi!

Becoming Walt Disney World Annual Passholders was the best decision I have ever made when moving to Florida many many moons ago.  Being a Passholder allows so much flexibility and comes with some fantastic perks such as dining and Resort hotel discounts, complimentary parking and PhotoPass downloads.

I know several people who only have an annual pass for one member of their family to just get the perks or one member has a higher tier annual pass while the rest have a lower tier pass.  Whichever way you decide to do it, it's perfectly fine.

Dining reservations are completely separate from your park tickets and Resort hotel reservations.  You do not necessarily have to have valid theme park admission or a Resort hotel reservation linked to your My Disney Experience account to make your dining reservations 180 days in advance.  We often drive up for the day just to eat at one of the wonderful restaurants that Walt Disney World has to offer.

If you're asking about adding Disney Dining Plan, you sure can.  My suggestion would be to book your vacation package first since it requires theme park tickets for every guest and then upgrading your ticket to an annual pass when you arrive.

Please stop back by if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
