I’m currently a magic key pass holder, and I received gift cards to put towards renewing my magic key but when I tried to do it online, it didn’t provide me and option to apply the gift cards! Can I renew the pass in person/through call using the cards?

Hi Taylor! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

Good news! Disney Gift Cards are a valid method of payment on Magic Key renewals, and I think it's a great idea to gift them to put towards a pass. I'm sorry you ran into some difficulty applying them. Let's try to get it sorted.

I've got two possible solutions for you.

    • Go to the Main Entrance ticket booth in person to have a Cast Member assist you in renewing your Magic Key with Disney Gift Cards and any additional methods of payment.
    • Call the Magic Key Holder phone line to speak with a helpful Cast Member in applying your Disney Gift Cards to your renewal.
Unless you happen to be nearby the parks, I'd give calling a try first as a convenient option. Just don't let that Magic Key pass expire! If I was really in a pinch to renew quickly, I'd go ahead and pay using my credit card and then use those Disney Gift Cards in the parks towards food, beverages, and merchandise when I visit. You'd still get the benefit of having your fun be paid for, and those Disney Gift Cards don't expire, so you can keep using them this year and beyond!

Hopefully, you've still got some time to sort this out because there are a lot of new magical experiences, entertainment, and treats with the Disney100 Celebration at Disneyland Resort debuting. That's why I grabbed a Magic Key for myself this year.

    Have a magical day!
