I'm currently going through cancer treatment. What is available at Disneyland park to help make my day more comfortable?

Hello, Dorissa! Thank you for bringing your important question to us at planDisney.

I am so sorry that you are going through cancer treatments, and so glad that you're taking a moment to treat yourself at Disneyland Park next month! Even Richard Nixon thought it was "The Happiest Place on Earth," as he enjoyed several visits throughout his lifetime. Let's set you up for a beautiful day!

Dorissa, suggestion number one. If your treatment causes you to get easily tired, consider renting an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) or Wheelchair while at Disneyland. Rentals are available outside the Disneyland Park Main Entrance on the Harbor Boulevard side and will have you zipping through the park faster than you can say, "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." The number of ECVs available to rent is limited, so I recommend getting to the resort as close to the park opening as possible.

There are several calmer attractions at Disneyland to allow you to rest throughout your day. In my opinion, there is no better place than The Disneyland Story presents Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. It's iconic and has great theater seating! Other relaxing attractions at Disneyland are Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room, Mark Twain Riverboat, Main Street Cinema, and the Disneyland Railroad. I also think that The Golden Horseshoe, Tropical Hideaway, and Market House have some great seating areas, in case you want to sit and relax. You can find all of these using the search function in the Disneyland Mobile App.

Adding Genie+ to your park day is also a great way to maximize your time, Dorissa. This paid service may help you enjoy shorter wait times. Purchase it at the same time you buy your admission ticket or purchase it in the Disneyland Mobile App after you've scanned into the park the day of your visit. Genie+ also gives you access to download all of your Disney PhotoPass pictures from your visit - a great way to commemorate your day!

As every day is worth celebrating, make sure to grab a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A., or certain merchandise locations throughout the park. At a store, just head to a friendly Cast Member at the register and they should be able to help!

Dorissa, I also think you should review the information about Disability Access Service (DAS) and determine if you might benefit from pre-registering. The process can begin between 2 and 30 days before your visit. If you're not sure it's right for you, reach out to Disability Services via phone about your specific situation.

Thanks again for stopping by! If you still haven't found what you're looking for, please come back and ask me another question directly.

    Cheers,
    Melissa
