Hi there so I’m currently in a cam walking boot and set to visit Disney soon and want to make sure I will be able to get on all the rides.

Welcome to planDisney, Erin Rose, I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today.

You're totally set to have a magical trip! From an accessibility standpoint, a walking boot by itself isn't going to be too much of a hindrance for you when it comes to attractions on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. You can choose what to ride based on your own comfort, and Cast Members are great about ensuring that you board and exit attractions safely. Most attractions use lap bars, pull-down restraints, or seat belts that don't come into contact with your lower leg at all, so many guests in boots ride without any issues.

There are two attractions worth calling out because of their bike-style ride positions: TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom and Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom. On both, you straddle the vehicle like a bicycle, and a restraint comes in behind your calf and lower leg to secure you. Because that restraint needs to close snugly, a walking boot can sometimes make the standard position uncomfortable or prevent the lock from engaging. The good news is that both attractions have test seats outside the entrance. Try one before you get in the queue so you can see if the fit feels comfortable and safe.

Here's an extra tip for TRON: it offers an accessible car with a more typical upright seating style and a lap bar. If the Lightcycle position isn't comfy for your boot, you can request the car when you board and still enjoy the experience. Flight of Passage does not have a traditional seat alternative, so the test seat is especially helpful there. Cast Members are on hand to offer positioning tips, but your comfort and secure fit are the deciding factors.

Beyond those two attractions, plan your day around what feels comfortable for your leg. Take advantage of mobile ordering to minimize standing, build in breaks, and chat with Cast Members at attraction entrances so they can give you advice for the most comfortable ride!

I hope this answers your question, Erin Rose, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
