Hi! I'm curious about the virtual Star Wars half-marathon - I know it counts for Kessel Run, but does it count for Castle to Chateau? I'm going to be in France next autumn but can't easily make it to Florida for one of their events. Thanks!

Bonjour Amanda, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I’m currently training for the 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon, and have been eagerly reading all the information I can about runDisney races. Every time I see a new race medal or shirt (have you SEEN the runDisney Spirit Jersey?) I get so excited for my big run-cation next year!

The Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon is such a great option for galactic heroes who can’t jump into hyperspace and get to Florida for Star Wars Rival Run Weekend. I bet race weekend will be extra spectacular this year, since it’s kind of a big year for Star Wars, with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening this summer.

Amanda, I called runDisney to check on your question, and the Cast Member I spoke with informed me that, to qualify for Disneyland Paris’ Castle to Château Challenge, your U.S race must be physically at Disneyland or Walt Disney World, so the virtual races do not qualify. The Disneyland Paris races are on my bucket list, so I hope you’ll still race if you end up in France this autumn!

Happy running, and May The Force Be With You,
    Robyn
