Hi, Regina!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your great question. Easter week is typically one of the busiest times of year at Disney Parks, right behind the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The crowd levels at the
Walt Disney World Resort between early March and late April are largely determined by schools’ spring break schedules, which for the most part are still timed to coincide with Easter Sunday. Spring crowds are also made heavier by travelers fleeing cold, snowy regions, which is most common in the month of March.
An early Easter, combined with the amount of travelers seeking an escape from winter climates, can make for especially heavy crowds in March but lighter park attendance in April. In my opinion, when Easter is later (like it will be in 2014), a more even distribution of spring Guests between the two months is possible, which means relatively lighter than normal spring crowds from late March to early April. Additionally, school districts that align their break with Easter usually take the week prior to Easter off when the holiday falls that late in the month, making the week leading up to Easter busier.
I hope this helps, Regina. Please feel free to ask us any other questions you may have as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
