Ahoy there, Heather!
Welcome aboard planDisney! It looks like you’re planning to enjoy both
Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay in true VIP fashion with a private cabana. My crew and I are actually hoping to try out the new Mickey & Minnie Cove Cabanas at Castaway Cay on our next sailing, and we’ve definitely gone down the rabbit hole watching every video and sneak peek we can find of this brand-new space.
It sounds like you’re already well-versed in arranging gluten-free meals for island days, which is a huge advantage. If you do secure a cabana, my best recommendation is to
stop by Guest Services the day before your island visit. While I can’t make any guarantees, Cast Members are often able to coordinate dietary accommodations in advance. In some cases, gluten-free meals may be prepared through the main island dining locations, such as Cookies BBQ, and then delivered to your cabana or held for you nearby at Hangar 98 BBQ. The same approach applies at Lookout Cay, where Guest Services can help coordinate with the culinary team to ensure safe options are ready for you, even if they still originate from the family beach dining locations.
One of the best parts of having a cabana is that once everything is set up, you can truly settle in and enjoy the day without feeling rushed. Between the shaded seating, loungers, chilled towels, a refrigerator stocked with water, soda, and fresh fruit, plus attentive Cast Members checking in, it really does feel like your own little island hideaway—Hakuna Matata, beach edition.
I hope this helps as you plan your island days and navigate gluten-free dining with confidence. With a
little advance planning and help from Guest Services, you can focus less on logistics and more on soaking up the sun and sea breeze. Wishing you smooth sailing and island days that feel straight out of a Disney storybook.
Sea ya real soon with holiday cheer, calm seas, and magical winter memories,
Dustin
