Hi Michelle,
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about eating light at Walt Disney World Resort.
For many years, I have been so impressed with the range of options guests can select at Walt Disney World Resort restaurants. There has always been something for light eaters as well as for those searching for more hearty options. And Disney is known worldwide for their commitment to meeting the needs of guests with dietary restrictions. If adult guests prefer a selection on the children's menu when they dine at a Walt Disney World Resort restaurant, they are certainly welcome to order it. I have been with friends and family who have done this and it was no problem. (The one exception, of course, is when guests are dining at a buffet.)
My advice would be to explore menus thoroughly and ask your server for suggestions. They can often direct you to options that are amazingly light and satisfying, even on the portion of the menu designed with adults in mind. For instance, if you've never tried the Shawarma Chicken Platter at
Tangierine Café in the Morocco Pavilion, I think you'll find it won't weigh you down as you explore World Showcase. That was one of my exciting finds on my most recent trip to Epcot. And the light and healthy options at
Satu'li Canteen in Pandora - The World of Avatar will blow you away.
Wishing you satisfying epicurean adventures,
Jill
