I’m on a cruise in January sailing from and to Fort Lauderdale. We visit Castaway island on Jan 8th. I’d like to know if there’s a tour offered to fly fish for Bonefish. If there is, can I take a boat on my own and can I take it all day?

    Ahoy George!

A January cruise to the Bahamas sounds like the perfect way to chase away those winter blues! You’ll be sailing on the beautiful Disney Dream, and a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, is truly the cherry on top of your vacation.

At Castaway Cay, fishing excursions are indeed available. These guided adventures can be reserved once your booking window opens, which depends on your Castaway Club status. For first-time cruisers, Port Adventure reservations will begin on October 6. Each fishing trip runs about three hours, giving you plenty of time to cast a line while still enjoying the island’s beaches, shopping, and other activities. Boats aren’t available for guests to take out on their own, but the guided trips are a fantastic way to reel in some fun!

planDisney fun fact: Castaway Cay has a dock built exclusively for cruise ships. That means you’ll step right off the Disney Dream and onto the island. No tender boats required!

    Wishing you a magical voyage,
    Anne

I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures. Learn More About Anne
