Hey Chris, it's nice to hEAR from you again!
I've had my morning cup of coffee, which means I'm fully charged to answer your question about options for Electric Vehicle charging at Walt Disney World Resort. My family makes the drive from Virginia to Orlando each year. We have our routine down, which includes our favorite hotel, our favorite dinner during our stopovers, and our favorite gas stations. We have yet to take our Electric Vehicle, though those favorite gas stations may soon be replaced by our favorite charging stations. I'd love to share what my research has shown about charging station availability for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Please note that the offerings below are for Level 2 charging. For DC fast charging, I presently recommend exploring options located off Disney property.
My family consistently chooses
Disney Resorts Collection hotels for our vacations because they immerse us in the magic of Disney while providing magical extras like 30-minute
early theme park entry to all
four theme parks every day and the ability to make
dining reservations 60 days in advance of our arrival date for the duration of our stay. Disney Resort hotel Guests can also travel to and from the theme parks and Disney Springs via
complimentary transportation, which preserves your charge and your chance to unplug. The list of Disney Resort hotels that currently have
Electric Vehicle charging stations are:
Disney's Riviera Resort (J1772) - boasts refined elegance
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort (J1772) - a calming oasis
Disney's Wilderness Lodge (J1772) - oozes rustic charm
Additionally,
Shades of Green, a Department of Defense property within Walt Disney World Resort, and the
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel offer Tesla and J1772 charging.
I'm also happy to report that J1772 chargers are available at all four theme parks: Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom park, EPCOT, and the Ticket and Transportation Center used to access Magic Kingdom park. In addition, the Orange, Lime, and Grapefruit garages at Disney Springs have J1772 chargers that are currently free of charge. A credit card, ChargePoint account, or additional mobile app may be required for some of the other J1772 chargers on property. Upon arrival, a Cast Member at each specific location will be glad to direct you to the charge ports.
Environmental sustainability is important to the Walt Disney Company, and I have a feeling the list of charging locations will continue to grow in the years ahead. As Walt Disney said, "We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." I hope your path leads you back to planDisney real soon, Chris.
Stay curious,
Jennifer
