I'm considering the Platinum Annual Pass for WDW. We have a WDW hotel booked for September and it's getting close to the 180 ADR. If I buy my pass now, will linking it to the hotel reservation and making ADRs activate my annual pass start date?

Hi Eugenia! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I think it is so exciting that you are considering becoming a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder.  As a passholder myself, I can tell you just how amazing it really is. The perks like up to 20% off of select dining and merchandise, Disney PhotoPass downloads and complimentary parking at all of the theme parks really make it worth it. I think you'll be excited to know that your Annual Pass will not be activated until you actually enter one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks using your pass. You can go ahead and make all of the dining reservations you'd like, book a hotel room and even make FastPass+ selections without actually activating your Annual Pass. You do, however, want to be sure that your Annual Pass is linked to your My Disney Experience account to be able to make your 7 days worth of FastPass+ selections ahead of time.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please come back and ask. Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
