Hi, Heather!
I love the Western Caribbean Itinerary with its variety of ports of call -- Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Castaway Cay. You can rest assured that Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has the safety and security of its guests in the forefront of their plans when choosing and visiting a port of call. However, that doesn't mean that guests should throw all caution to the wind. Just as you would take measures to ensure that your loved ones and valuables are safe at home, you need to take precautions to protect when you're on vacation, too.
For instance, leave all valuables in your stateroom safe, and make prior arrangements for your travel within a port. We like to book one Port Adventure for each port we visit, and we rest in knowing that DCL has handled all the details. The only exception is at Castaway Cay -- since we've been there several times, we use that as our "down" time and just take the day as it comes.
At the other three ports of call, peruse the various
Port Adventures designed for families with children your daughter's age. I recommend filtering the Port Adventures page by each port and designating "Age Range: 5-7." Then, it'll be less confusing to pick out one or two for each port which you can research before you book. Our favorite way to book excursions is to mix up the experiences -- fun in the water, animal encounters and historical sites and tours -- one for each port!
I hope this helps get you started. Let me know if you have more questions once you've booked -- I'd love to know when you're going, too. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
