I'm considering ordering a personalized bday cake to surprise DH at lunch at Mama Melrose's. We're a family of 4 so they'll be leftovers. Will the restaraunt hold on to the leftover cake so we can pick it up when we head out of the park? Thanks.

Hi Wendy - I was in this situation when my daughter turned 13 - only I was at Garden Grill at Epcot.  I had a fast pass for Soarin' that I absolutely was not going to let go to waste and I wanted to enjoy the rest of the park as well.  Unfortunately when I asked if they would hold the leftover cake I was told it was their policy not to.  I ended up just bringing the cake with me on the attractions.  It was bulky and a little annoying so we did end up going back to our resort after enjoying a few attractions to drop off the cake.  We then hopped over to another park.

However, do ask - it's possible you will have better luck then I did.  You may also want to see if you can change your reservation from lunch to dinner so you can enjoy most of the day not worrying about this. Each park does have lockers you can rent to store the cake but do consider the temperature on the day of your husband's birthday to make sure it won't spoil.

As far as the cake itself, I highly recommend it!  The reason we ate at Garden Grill is my daughter is a Chip and Dale fan.  We were able to order a personalized cake with her two favorite characters on it and it was a hit - especially for Chip and Dale!

Happy birthday to your husband and enjoy your vacation!  Diane
