I'm considering going to the Mickey's not so Scary Halloween party next year, my kid will be almost 2 so it would be best to not bring him to that event. And I've heard that there is a baby sitting program but can't find more information.

    Hi, there!

Welcome to planDisney, Halie. I'm so glad you stopped by! As someone who likes to plan ahead, I love that you're already thinking about attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party next year. It's frightfully fun!

As a mom of three, I understand your concern about taking your little guy to a late-night event at Magic Kingdom Park. If you'd like to leave him behind, your best bet is to book Kid's Nite Out. This Orlando-based babysitting service will send a qualified babysitter directly to your Disney Resort hotel. I booked a Kid's Nite Out babysitter for my little ones a few years ago, and I appreciated the peace of mind I had while my husband and I enjoyed a date night out, Disney-style. For more information about Kid's Nite Out, just do a quick Google search. Booking a babysitter is super easy! Just click on the "Reserve Your Spot" button on the In-Room Sitter page and complete a reservation form.

I can also tell you that it is possible to enjoy an after-hours event in the theme parks with a toddler in tow! My daughter was 18-months old when we took her to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park for the first time. Rather than exploring the theme parks that day, we took it easy and relaxed at our Disney Resort hotel. We made sure she took a nice, long nap in the afternoon and then we headed to the party! She did get to enjoy a few hours before she was ready to close her little eyes. Before she fell asleep in her stroller, I got her into her pajamas, reclined the seat completely flat, and tucked her in with a blanket. She slept through the rest of the party while we enjoyed the incredible holiday entertainment and festive treats! Since she was already in her pajamas, I was able to transfer her right into her crib when we returned to our hotel room.

I hope this was helpful, Halie. Please let us know if you have any other questions about planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
