I’m considering doing the cake decorating experience at Amorette’s bakery before a cruise. Would we be allowed to bring our cakes on the ship with us? I saw the rules are no home made desserts but not sure if this counts. Thanks.

    HI there, Kaylee,

Ooh! The Amorette's Patisserie Cake Decorating Experience will be an amazing time for you. And it sounds like you are doing your Disney vacation the "right way" by land and sea. Some of our best vacation experiences have been when we combine a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort and a Disney cruise out of Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale or the Disneyland Resort and a cruise out of San Diego.

It's a good thing you are checking up on the items that are allowed or not on the Disney cruise portion of your vacation. In this case, my recommendation is to enjoy the sweet deliciousness of your cake from Amorette's Patisserie before you head to the port. As you mentioned, homemade baked goods are not allowed, but perishable food and open food containers are also not permitted on board.

Rest assured, there will be plenty of opportunities for more delicious sweet and savory treats on board your cruise as well. Some of our favorite treats are gelato from Inside Out: Joyful Sweets on the Disney Wish or specialty burgers from the Periscope Pub on the Disney Treasure. Of course, there is always complimentary ice cream on the pool deck. We also love to order delicious cookies from the complimentary room service.

Bon voyage and bon appetit, Kaylee!
    ~Tony
