I'm considering the dining plan for my family's next trip. I'm wondering, with the quick service plan, is a dessert included with your meal at the Polite Pig in Disney Springs? Or is it just an entree and beverage?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Bethany!

I am so glad that you asked this question as my husband and I just tried The Polite Pig using our last two Disney Dining Plan Quick-Service meals last week...and it was soo good!

With a Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, QS meals include one entree and one non-alcoholic beverage per person--guests 21 and over may opt for an alcoholic beverage instead, if available. Honestly, the portions are so very generous at The Polite Pig that we would never have had room for dessert even if included.

I cook A LOT, so when on a Disney Dining Plan, I like to order items I don't usually have time to prepare at home. While I perused the items on The Polite Pig's menu, I gravitated toward the From the Smoker area. Brisket? Ribs? And I didn't have to man the grill for hours? Yes, please! However, be sure to note the Chef's Special. On our visit, we were lucky to find the short rib as the day's special, and...oh. My. Goodness. It was outstanding--and huge--and included as a Quick-Service Meal!

We sampled sides such as collard greens, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, cornbread--all so, so good. Paired with a fountain drink, bottled water or juice, or, if you are interested, an adult beverage such as a refreshing Grapefruit Margarita, you'll have a QS meal that checks all of your culinary boxes.

Don't forget: as you are touring Disney Springs, you may be ready for dessert quite a bit after your delicious meal. Look for the purple and white Disney Dining Plan (DDP) symbol on QS menus to see where your snacks can help you satisfy that sweet tooth. Check out a sinful cinnamon option at Wetzel's Pretzels, cannoli at Vivoli Il Gelato, Petite Mickey Mouse Domes at Amorette's Patisserie, and so many other delicious sweet treats using your snack credits. It's going to be hard to choose, for sure!

Bethany, as you plan your visit and ponder your options, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
