Tara from OH Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I'm confused about why there are Fastpasses for shows (Fantasmic for example). If you don't get a fastpass for it, is there a possibility you won't get in to the show?

    Hey there, Tara!

I’m so happy to answer your great question today. Thank you for sending it to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

The reason that FastPass+ is offered for shows, fireworks and parades is for Guests who consider these experiences a priority on their itineraries. These Guests normally want the convenience of having an assigned sitting/standing area and a shorter wait-time.

Not having a FastPass+ reservation for a show will not prevent you from seeing it, but you may have to show up a lot earlier to get prime seating or you may have to wait until all of the Guests with FastPass+ enter the show and take their seats or standing areas. For example, many Guests who wish to see Fantasmic! and do not have a FastPass+ will start to line up 1-1.5 hours before showtime, but with FastPass+ you will only need to line up 20-30 minutes before showtime.

Tara, I hope I have answered your question! Please visit us again if you have any more questions before, during or after your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
