    I'm confused about time frame for ADR. Trip is 3/12-3/20. When is the earliest I can make ADRs? Also, would you recommend making reservations online or via phone? We live in TX, so what time on designated day do reservation lines open? Thx in advance!

    Hi Amy!

         I tell you what, even I am confused with all of the changes to the Advanced Reservation System!  Beginning Tuesday, October 27, 2009, all guests (both on and off property) will be able to book their dining, tours and recreation needs 180 days out from the day that they leave.  Those guests staying on Disney property can make their dining choices for up to 10 days of their vacation on one phone call or web visit.  This is also true for tours and recreation needs.

          Here comes the really tricky part!  Since you leave on March 12, 2009, that would make 180 days prior to your arrival date be September 13, 2009, which is before the new 180 day calendar opens up.  Sooo, on October 27, 2009 you and many, many other people will be eligible to book their meals.  Very, very frustrating!!!  I imagine that the call center will be bombarded with callers that day, so I HIGHLY recommend making your ADRs online.  In fact, I suggest making them online regardless. 

         The online ADR system opens up at 6:00 AM Eastern time, compared to the phone lines opening up at 7:00 AM Eastern time.  This means that we Disney fans in the Central time zone can begin making our online "ressies" at 5:00 AM.  I imagine that the one hour gained by using the online system will be a HUGE advantage to those trying to get the really tough meals!  Amy, long story short, I would be online on October 27, 2009 at 4:55 AM Central time - Good Luck!!!
