    I'm confused about how the sit-down meals work with children. If there is no kids menu what are they entilted to for lunch/dinner? The brochure makes it look like they get an appetizer? Can someone please clarify this for me

    The dining plan can seem a bit confusing, especially when it comes to kids' meals.  Let me try to de-mystify it for you.

    Most of the table service restaurants fall into one of three categories: a la carte, buffet or family style.  Buffet dining is the easiest, kids and adults can eat anything offered at the buffet; this is great for families with children who have large appetites or like variety in their food choices. 

    Family style meals are another great option.  When you dine at one of these restaurants, a platter is brought out with an entire meal that you then serve to each member in your party.  In some restaurants like Garden Grill there is also a platter with kids' meal items (mac & cheese, chicken fingers, etc.) on it.  Adults and kids can eat items off of either platter and ask for refills on whatever they like.

    A la carte restaurants are where the dining plan gets a little confusing.  Most restaurants have a kids' menu.  Included in the menu are what are called "complete meals" served on a Mickey plate.  That's easy enough; you just order the meal and afterward order a dessert.  They also have Kid's Picks; this is where your child can mix and match by selecting an appetizer, entree and dessert.  If you have visions of sharing this appetizer with your entire party, don't get too excited.  It's usually carrot sticks, a bowl of soup or a small fruit salad.

    There are a small number of restaurants that don't have a kids' menu.  In these instances, your child can order an entree and dessert off of the adult menu.
