I’m confused about park reservations. We hold 2-day park hopper tickets. I have reservations one day at magic kingdom and the other day at Hollywood studios. How do I make reservations for animal kingdom and Epcot once we finish the first park each day?

Hey there, Justin! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. It's officially your vacation month! I bet you are getting so excited.

I am so glad park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World at the start of this year. Park hopping is actually my favorite way to spend a day at Walt Disney World and I am glad to be getting back to a little bit of normalcy.

Even though park hopping has returned, it does look a little bit different at this time. Here is how it is currently working:
    • Guests wishing to park hop must have standard theme park admission with the park hopper option
    • Guests wishing to park hop must make a park pass reservation for the first park they wish to visit each day
    • Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation
    • Park hopping starts each day at 2:00 p.m. and continues until each theme park's closing
    • Park hopping is subject to capacity limitations at this time.
Once you've made your initial park pass reservation for the day, there isn't a need to make any more reservations for the parks you are wishing to hop over to. To make park hopping even easier during the unprecedented time, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is being provided at this time. Around 2:00 p.m. or whenever you are ready to park hop after that time, simply head out to the bus stop marked for which park you'd like to visit next. There will be a Cast Member working that area and he or she will want to verify that you do, indeed, have the park hopper option on your ticket. This is just a quick scan of your MagicBand and then you'll be able to board the bus to your next destination. Because park hopping is subject to park capacity limitations, if a park is not accepting new visitors when you are wanting to hop over that same Cast Member will alert you of your options. I've been park hopping for 2 full months now and have not yet encountered any problems with the parks being full when I've wanted to hop over. I don't think it is too much of a worry at this time but I did want you to be aware of the possibility.

My favorite festival, the Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is set to be in full bloom in just a few days and will be going on during your vacation. I hope you'll hop over there one evening and enjoy all that the festival has to offer - especially the outdoor kitchens. When I am at Walt Disney World during this festival I love hopping over there multiple days for dinner. There are so many food booths, trying to fit them all in one day can be too much food. Spacing them out in the evenings, I feel like I get to enjoy everything the festival has to offer. If you get a chance, hop over to the Disney Parks Blog and check out the foodie guide they put together for the festival. The pictures are mouthwatering!

I hope this helps you plan your day a little bit better, Justin. If you have any other questions before your vacation, I'd love it if you'd come back and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Happy hopping!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
