I’m confused by the occupancy rules. At most other resorts we’ve stayed at it will say “sleeps 5 adults” but will allow an infant as a sixth person. But Disneyland Resort hotels bump up the rooms to suites. Why is the infant counted toward occupancy there?

    Hiya Kaylee!

Welcome to planDisney! I had the pleasure of staying at the Disneyland Hotel a few months ago and I consider it one of the nicest places I've stayed ever. Did you know that when it opened it only had 104 rooms and it now has close to 1,000? With the construction of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel it will be even more special to stay here!

I am glad you are here for help and I did reach out to some Cast Members for some clarifying guidance. It appears that for the Disneyland Hotel, the number of people in the room dictates the type of room. The total headcount including the infant is counted so a party of 5 with an infant will be considered a total party of 6 and will therefore need a suite-type room.

I'm sorry I don't have better news but remember that kids 2 and under are free to enter the theme parks! I consider any age to be the best time to visit the Parks but I do love it when they are free. Now that Disneyland Park has renovated Mickey's Toontown with special play areas and interactive experiences it's worth a trip with your little one! Make sure to say hi to Mickey for me!

Feel free to come back at any time if you have more questions! We are glad to help!

    Happy Planning!
