Welcome to planDisney, Skye!
I am so happy to hear you will celebrate your 21st birthday at
The Most Magical Place on Earth! Get ready to make magical memories you will cherish forever!
As a fellow international Guest visiting from Brazil, I always consider tax rates and tips while budgeting for my Disney holidays. The Walt Disney World Resort covers an area with property in both Orange County and Osceola County, meaning sales taxes can vary between 6.5 percent and 7.5 percent, depending on the county. While budgeting, I usually plan to pay a sales tax of 7.5 percent on dining and merchandise because if I end up paying 6.5 percent, I can always use the money I save to purchase extra snacks. There is always room for more Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars!
You will pay the sales tax whenever you buy meals at both
table-service and
quick-service restaurants. Although not mandatory, tips are expected at table-service restaurants. Quality service in the United States is usually acknowledged by a gratuity of 18 percent to 20 percent. You will find suggested tip percentages on your meal receipt. Please note that an 18 percent gratuity is automatically added to the bill for parties of six or more and that sales tax percentages are subject to change without notice.
It was a pleasure answering your question, Skye. I hope this helps you while planning and that you have a magical Walt Disney World Resort holiday!
Best Disney wishes,
Thiana
