Welcome to planDisney, Emily.
How exciting that your nursing conference is close to The Most Magical Place on Earth. It would be a shame to be so close, yet not stop by to say hello to Mickey and Minnie.
A few years ago, Walt Disney World Resort had a special offer called Mid-Day Magic Tickets. These tickets were valid for admission after 12:00 PM. However, since the beginning of the pandemic, these tickets haven't been available. Unfortunately, we haven't been told if or when they will return. You can always keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any updates on this. However, for now, you'll have to pay for a
standard ticket if you'd like to visit a theme park in the afternoon or evening.
One option to consider is to attend a
Disney After Hours event. Currently, these events occur at
Disney's Hollywood Studios,
EPCOT, and
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and offer 3 extra hours of magic after the park closes for regular Guests. Since these events have a limited number of Guests, you'll experience much lower wait times for attractions. Delicious ice cream, popcorn, and select beverages are also included in the ticket price. They can also be a little cheaper than a standard ticket. However, it will definitely make for a later night!
If visiting a theme park this time isn't going to work, Emily, you can always browse the amazing stores at
Disney Springs. You can then grab dinner at one of the many fantastic restaurants. My personal favorite is
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' (pro tip: get the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits). If you do visit Disney Springs, you simply must stop by
Gideon's Bakehouse. I recommend The Original Peanut Butter Cold Brew and one of their famous cookies. Trust me on this, Emily. And before you ask, it's worth the wait.
I hope that's helpful, Emily. Thanks so much for stopping by and choosing to be our Guest. Have a great trip.
Mike
