If I'm coming to Oogie Boogie Bash at California Adventure, can I wear a costume in the 4 hours prior (admission begins at 2pm) even though it officially begins at 6? Thank you.

Trick or treat, Mary! Thanks for bringing your spook-tacular question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

First off, I’m so excited for you to experience Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party this weekend! I recently had the chance to attend this frightfully-fun party, and I was super impressed!

Yes, you may wear your Halloween costume in the parks prior to the event start time of 6:00 PM, assuming it follows the Costume Guidelines listed here (under Mischievous Mayhem). As you mentioned, with the Sunday party, you’ll be allowed to enter Disney California Adventure Park starting at 2:00 PM. So, you’re welcome to mix in early in your costume to start enjoying the festive fun of Halloween Time! I recommend checking out the transformation of Radiator Springs into Radiator Screams – Cars Land has undergone a dreadfully delightful makeover you’re sure to love. I also enjoy walking around Plaza de la Familia, where you can catch the Musical Celebration of Coco

During your early admission time in the park, be sure to take advantage of Disney MaxPass, which is included with your admission prior to 6:00 PM. It’s also a good idea to eat dinner before the event starts, since you’re going to need all the time you can get to experience everything the Bash has to offer! You may want to consider the Oogie Boogie Bash Dining Package available at Wine Country Trattoria, which includes a three-course meal, and a spot in the reserved parade viewing area for later that evening.

I can’t wait for you to experience the exciting new elements that are part of Oogie Boogie Bash, including my favorites, Villains Grove, the immersive Treat Trails, DescenDANCE, and Mickey’s Trick & Treat. My favorite Treat Trail was in the Disney Animation Building, featuring Oogie Boogie himself!

Please stop by with any additional planning questions… I’m all EARs!

Wishing you a day filled with many happy haunts!
