Hello! I’m coming next week on Saturday the 21st. It will be just after my 22 year wedding anniversary… Looking to see if you do anything special for around any ideas or something I can do as a special surprise for me and my wife while we’re there?

Greetings, Mitchel, and welcome to planDisney. First of all, happy anniversary to you both! Pixie dust is in the air – I can't think of a more magical place to celebrate an anniversary than the Disneyland Resort. While the Disneyland Resort doesn’t currently offer specific anniversary packages, there are still some special ways to celebrate your love story during your visit.

Here are a few ideas to make the day extra magical:

    • Grab a complimentary "Happily Ever After" button at the start of the day! Many retail locations and City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. have celebratory buttons.
    • Consider a dining package for certain nighttime spectaculars. You'll get a nice meal and reserved seating for the corresponding show. My sister and I just surprised my mom with the World of Color Dessert Party, which she loved. We each received a delicious platter of treats and snacks, and watched the show while seated at our table.
    • Purchase Lightning Lane Multi Passes to enjoy shorter wait times at many popular attractions. It's a great way to maximize your time in the park. You'll also receive unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos, so stop at the various PhotoPass locations to take some lovely photos together.
    • Photo Excursions recently returned to the Disneyland Resort, and may be offered during your visit. This is a free service, typically available between noon and early evening – a PhotoPass photographer spends around 10-15 minutes with a party taking photos in one area of the park. With the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you'd be able to download all of the photos taken during the session without an added cost. The spot to line up is at the bridge between Frontierland and Main Street, U.S.A.
    • Surprise your wife with a heartfelt gift, perhaps something sparkly from PANDORA Jewelry or a customized pair of Mickey ears. There is also a lot of great 70th Anniversary merchandise available right now.
    • I really enjoyed the Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour. If you choose this adventure, you may even be able to ride inside the Presidential Car, the Lilly Belle, subject to availability and weather conditions. If it gets too hot, they are not able to do that portion of the tour, so try to book for the morning if you can.
    • Make a list of attractions you really want to experience – perhaps even put a theme around it. For example, my pal McCayla made it a goal to ride all of the opening day attractions during a visit, which I thought was really fun!
    • Consider a surprise treatment at Tenaya Stone Spa. My husband and I booked a couples massage for our anniversary a few years ago, and we both loved it! I've heard great things about the foot treatments, too, especially after a long day of walking in the parks.
Mitchel, I hope your anniversary visit is full of unforgettable memories, magical moments, and so much joy. If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always glad to help here at planDisney.

    Wishing you magic,
    Kriss
