Hi there, Kafy! Welcome to planDisney.
I love a solo Disneyland trip! While I enjoy making memories with my friends and family, there is just something so special about having a day all to yourself in the magic. You can prioritize your must-dos and have the freedom to change your mind at any moment. I got out of a queue one time because I decided I just wanted to hit Main Street with an iced latte for a little shopping. It was one of my favorite moments of the day!
When traveling solo, you will definitely want to take advantage of the Single Rider access on select attractions, including Space Mountain, Smuggler's Run, Radiator Springs Racers and WEB SLINGERS (to name a few!). You do not need to do any advanced planning to join the single-rider line, and this queue is typically much shorter than the standby queue and can, at times, zip you right to the front. You won't be able to control who you sit with and you'll usually be filling in an empty spot for a party with an odd number, but that won't take away from the magic. To prepare for your day, you may want to take a look at the attractions that offer
Single Rider. The easiest way to do this is in the Disneyland Mobile App. You can simply search "Single Rider" and then tap "Find on Map", and they will all be revealed across both Disneyland and California Adventure. Alternatively, you can head to the map location icon on the bottom navigation bar and select "Attractions" at the top. Tap the filter icon and scroll down to "Singe Rider Offered". From here, I like to select "Show List" to see a quick list of the attractions and their current wait times. Note that these wait times are for the standby queue and your single rider line will likely be shorter.
When it comes to dining, a table for one is just as fun! If you want to book dining ahead of time, head back into the app and tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar, selecting "
Check Dining Availability". Here, you will select your party size and the date to see what's currently available. If you'd like to play it by ear, follow the same steps once you are in the park but instead of selecting a date, tap "
Join a Walk-up List". This will show you any table service restaurants that may have last-minute availability. You never know, you may get lucky and land a seat at Blue Bayou! Of course, there are many quick-service restaurants as well if you want to be a bit more casual. I'd recommend using
Mobile Order in the app to place your order ahead of time and not waste a magical minute in line.
Honestly, the biggest advantage will be using the single-rider line for
Radiator Springs Racers. This is a huge plus when you're a party of one, and actually, many groups will decide not to ride together and hop in this line as well to experience a shorter wait time. You will love cruising around with Lightning McQueen and his buddies. While you're in Cars Land, I highly recommend swinging into the
Cozy Cone Motel where each cone offers a different treat from churros to ice cream to mac n' cheese to margaritas. The mac n' cheese is a do not miss!
Kafy, I hope this was helpful in your planning! Enjoy your visit and have fun making those magical memories.
