I'm coming in mid-May (on a Monday) and wondering if it's worth it to get the Max Pass/Fast Pass (what's the difference?) or whether it is likely to be quiet enough that we won't need a pass. What's your opinion?

Hiya, Abby, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your planning question! I’m so excited for your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth… it’s going to be here before you know it!

Many Guests choose to extend their stay through Monday to make for a long weekend, so I wouldn’t say Mondays are significantly less crowded than weekends. In my experience, I’ve found that Wednesdays tend to be the least crowded, though there are so many exciting things happening at the Disneyland Resort lately, that most days see steady crowds, especially as we get closer to summer time. So, I would highly recommend adding Disney MaxPass to your ticket. Not only does it allow you to make Disney FASTPASS selections directly from your mobile device once you’re in the parks, but it also includes unlimited digital downloads of your Disney PhotoPass images!

There are two ways to get MaxPass: First, you can purchase tickets online, and after selecting the type of ticket you’d like to purchase, check the “Upgrade to the Disney MaxPass” box. This will add MaxPass to every ticket you’re purchasing, for every day of your visit. If you’d prefer to only purchase MaxPass for specific days of your trip, you can hold off on purchasing, and wait until you’ve entered the parks to add MaxPass to your ticket on a daily basis, using the Disneyland app. As soon as you’ve entered the parks and added MaxPass to your ticket, you’re free to begin making your FASTPASS selections from the convenience of your phone. You can even make selections for one park when you’re in the other park, if you have a Park Hopper ticket! This can be a big time-saver, especially for families on-the-go!

I also recommend downloading the Disneyland app before your arrival. It’s a great handy helper for checking wait times, finding favorite Characters, mobile food ordering, and of course, using Disney MaxPass!

Be sure to Get Your Ears On during your time in Disneyland Park! You won’t want to miss Mickey’s Mix Magic, the super-fun nighttime extravaganza that you can't help dancing to! Also, check out the themed food and merchandise that’s part of the celebration… it’s only around through June 6, 2019, so you’ll want to get it before it’s gone!

Wishing you an adventure of a lifetime at the Disneyland Resort!
