I’m coming to disneyland for my birthday and I plan on purchasing the balloons in park for some birthday pictures but I was wondering if it is also allowed to bring in outside balloons. I wanted to bring a number balloon to take a picture with the castle

Hi Faith! Welcome to planDisney! First and foremost, let me wish you a happy happy birthday! I'm so excited to hear that you will be spending it at the Happiest Place on Earth where celebrations are always made extra magical! I have spent a birthday or two at the Disneyland Resort and let me tell you, they are always sprinkled in pixie dust.

I love that you are already planning a fun way to capture such a special occasion! At this time, celebration balloons of any kind must be purchased within the park, but there is nothing more iconic to Disneyland Park than Mickey balloons and a backdrop of Sleeping Beauty Castle! Our Disney PhotoPass photographers are sprinkled throughout and will be happy to help you capture all those special moments. If you are planning to add Disney Genie+ to your ticket that day, you'll get to enjoy unlimited digital downloads of the Disney PhotoPass photos so you won't miss a single moment!

There are so many ways to mark a special occasion even as you take those first few steps into the park. My first stop is always City Hall just to the left as you pass under the Disneyland Railroad for a complimentary celebration button! Wear it loud and proud all day and you will be showered with "Happy Birthday!" from Cast Members and fellow Guests alike. After you've got your shiny new button, take a little walk across the way to The Mad Hatter for a pair of custom embroidered, classic Mickey Ears. Commemorate the year, your age, your name - anything goes! And maybe you can even incorporate this personalized touch into your castle photo in lieu of the number balloon. Now that your birthday glow is beaming from head to toe, head on down Main Street, U.S.A. for that castle photo!

If you have made a dining reservation, perhaps a celebration cake is the actual icing on top of a magical day! My family ordered one for my daughter's 5th birthday and it was not only Mickey-shaped and adorable, but it was DELICIOUS! I know she felt extra special making her birthday wish that year. The celebration cakes are available at select restaurants, and I always recommend placing the order as soon as you can as Minnie and Mickey will need 3 days of lead time to make it just right!

Well, Faith, I certainly hope this was helpful in making your birthday plans extra special! If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach back out to us. We are always here to help at planDisney!

    Keep wishing on those stars,
    Tara
