Hi! Im coming to Disney in may and I’m trying to book the storyteller for may, but there has been no reservation dates starting may 16. And on the website it says reservations open mar 25. It hasn’t seem to have opened yet.

Hi, Samantha, and welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your question.

I love that you're thinking about dining at the Storytellers Cafe! It's a magical spot located at the Grand Californian Hotel and a highlight for our family. Advance dining reservations are highly recommended and can usually be made up to 60 days prior to your visit, but because of occasional closures or some pixie dust happening behind the curtain, it may be helpful to know that booking may not be available at times.

The good news is, Samantha, according to the Disneyland website, there looks to be availability for your dates at Storytellers Cafe, at the time of this writing! The name of the (Disneyland advance dining reservation) game is to keep checking as the reservation system is updated regularly as Guests modify or cancel plans, or additional availability is released. I tend to have a few dining reservations in my pocket and then make my final decisions as the time gets closer. No harm in having options! Just make sure to cancel any reservations you will not be using at least two hours prior to your reservation time or there will be a per person cancellation fee.

Tip: I recommend dining at Storytellers Cafe on a day you do not plan to visit a theme park, as you do not need a theme park ticket to visit the Grand Californian Hotel. Save your dining experience at Storytellers Cafe for, perhaps, the morning of your departure day for one last magical goodbye!

It looks like you'll be visiting the Happiest Place on Earth during Disneyland's 70th Celebration, Samantha! I'm so excited for all the wonder and fun you're about to experience - like World of Color Happiness! This all-new nighttime extravaganza is being created especially for Disneyland's 70th Celebration and inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the opening day of Disneyland Park seven decades ago: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!” I can't wait!

If you have any other planning questions, please don't hesitate to ask me! I'd love to share more of my tips and recommendations for a truly magical time in Disneyland, like maybe how to secure a virtual queue for World of Color Happiness! or some strategies to make sure you hit all your top priorities.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you the most magical visit, Samantha!
