Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Erin. I'm so happy you stopped by and even happier to hear you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort for the first time in just a few days! I can't think of a better way to ring in the New Year. Yay!
There are lots of pixie-dusted adventures to be had in the theme parks. Those adventures require a lot of walking, though! Sparing yourself an additional walk through the parking lot is smart. I'm pleased to tell you that you can certainly be dropped off near the entrances of the theme parks while your family parks. It's important to note, though, that while you can be dropped off near the entrance of
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, that's not the case for
Magic Kingdom Park. In that instance, you'll need to be dropped off at the Transportation and Ticket Center and then hop on the monorail or ferry boat headed for the Magic Kingdom Park entrance.
If mobility is a concern for you, you may want to consider
renting an Electronic Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). ECVs are available to rent at all four theme parks and Disney Springs. You'll find conveniently located parking areas for ECVs near attractions throughout the parks!
A first visit is certainly worth celebrating! Be sure to stop by the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel or any Guest Relations location for a complimentary first visit button. It makes for the perfect souvenir!
I hope this was helpful, Erin. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
Ashley
