Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Anisha! My son and I love
pressing pennies in the machines around Walt Disney World Resort. We try to bring home at least five or six from every trip, and for Christmas, I gifted him the pressed penny book so he can keep them all shiny and in one place. He pores over his collection at least a few times a week, noting what we still need to find.
I’m sad to say that Canadian quarters will not work in the machines, but Canadian pennies will. Make sure you shine them up for a beautiful end result, but know that Canadian pennies are a bit harder than U.S. pennies and the end result may not have as quite a clean press as a U.S. coin. Now, since you are having some issue finding American coins where you live, I have some great news! If you have a bit of cash on you when you arrive at your
Resort Hotel, you can exchange up to $250 a day at the Front Desk. I’m sure the Cast Members will hand you some shiny new coins to use in the machines, and this way, you won’t have to travel with a pouch of heavy coins. You’ll just bring home some beautiful souvenirs. If you happen to be staying off property, you can make that same exchange at any
Guest Relations desk in the Parks or Disney Springs. So if you forget until you’re staring a penny press in the face, you can hop in line and bring those beautiful coins to the press.
If I can do anything to help boost your currency collection or find some more pressing fun around the Resort, please let me know. Your trip will be so much fun you won’t want to CHANGE a thing! ~ Lindsey P.
