I'm checking the panel and don't even have my next WDW trip scheduled yet! But I do have DVC-HH planned for next summer.1st trip there and was wondering what to expect disney-wise. My guess is characters won't be there. Driving from PA, heard a car is a +.

    Hi there Lori!

Thanks for writing.  My family and I stayed at Disney's Hilton Head Resort twice on a drive from New Jersey to Orlando.  It was fantastic, and a great way to incorporate a few beach days into an otherwise long, boring drive!  Disney service, cleanliness, attention-to-detail and overall standards of excellence are apparent throughout the property.  We loved the magnificent beach and the resort's amenities.  My kids enjoyed both pools, arts & crafts, and the nightly campfire and sing-along.  There are also a variety of nature-inspired tours that your entire family can enjoy. Hilton Head is loaded with fantastic restaurants, and we had an opportunity to visit several while on vacation.  I strongly recommend having a car to get around Hilton Head for sight seeing.  At the resort, a car isn't necessary, however, as there is a shuttle between the resort and the beach house, located about a mile away.  You are correct that you won't see any characters parading around Hilton Head.  I'm guessing your family won't notice, however, as there are plenty of activities and wonderful things to do. The resort is truly beautiful!  Have a wonderful vacation!
