Hi There! Welcome back to planDisney, Jennifer! We are so glad to see you again!
I remember taking trips with my fellow chorus members back in my High School days. Those are memories I will cherish forever, so I am so happy to hear your kids will get to create these memories with their friends at
Walt Disney World Resort! With your kids off exploring the parks with their friends, you have the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a day that is all about you! I have enjoyed some solo time in the parks and can tell you from experience that taking it all in at your own pace is just so refreshing.
Now, let's get to planning the perfect "Jennifer Day!" To start, I find that visiting Walt Disney World over holiday weekends usually comes with slightly elevated crowd levels. So, given that you will be there over Memorial Day Weekend, I would definitely recommend purchasing
Disney Genie+. With Disney Genie+, you get a customized daily itinerary based on your preferences and priorities for your visit. Since this day is all about you, why not let the magic Genie in the palm of your hand help make it even more special? You'll also be able to spend less time in line by making up to two Lightning Lane selections for more than 40 attractions across the parks. If you are a thrill-seeker, like me, I would highly recommend securing a Lightning Lane arrival time (if available) for one of my favorite attractions, Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom. I find any solo park day most enjoyable when time is available to explore more than just the attractions. That is where Disney Genie+ comes in handy!
In addition to your Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane Selections, you can also take advantage of the singer rider line on your solo day. Guests utilizing the single rider line often experience much shorter wait times on some of the most popular attractions like Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Test Track at EPCOT. I most often visit Walt Disney World with a group of adult friends with no kids to be accompanied, so we almost always utilize the single rider line to pack in more fun in less time!
Now that we have talked about attractions, let's get to my absolute favorite thing about visiting Walt Disney World, the food! I think one of the things you will enjoy most about your solo day will be the opportunity to leisurely stroll through the parks and pick up a snack (or 20, who's counting?) without having to keep up with a group! If visiting
Disney's Animal Kingdom, I would highly recommend stopping over at Mr. Kamal's for the seasoned fries served with delicious dipping sauce. I dream about those fries! Why not also treat yourself to a special table service dinner one night? After a long day in the parks, I find that it's nice to sit down to a delicious dinner on your own to reflect on your fantastic day and even chat with a Cast Member or two. They are always so much fun to get to know. One of my favorite spots for a relaxing dinner is La Hacienda de San Angel, which serves delicious Mexican cuisine with gorgeous World Show Case Lagoon views. After dinner, you can grab the heavenly warm brioche ice cream sandwich from L'Artisan des Glaces and grab a spot to view the nighttime spectacular,
Harmonious. What a fantastic way to wrap up your day!
I just know you will have a fabulous time on your solo day at Walt Disney World! We love to help our fellow Guests plan the most magical day possible, so please stop by again soon with any other questions you may have!
See you real soon!
