I'm celebrating my 40th at WDW and will have two parties. Grand 1 with specialty cake, catering or dinner at the Grand Floridian before and also an Illuminations Cruise with cake and catering. Is there a party or event planner to help me coordinate & b

Happy birthday Simone!  Wow what an exciting time you have planned to help you celebrate this great event!  I have been fortunate to enjoy both of these experiences during stays at Disney as I am sure you will as well.

It is best to deal with the two separately. Since they are in two different locations you will want to speak first to the Grand Floridian private dining cast to help you arrange the Grand 1 trip.  I know from experience to handle it yourself and not have another resort cast member do this.  So please call the Grand private dining and discuss your options.  They will be happy to FAX menu choices and prices to you directly.  If you are having a small number of guests joining you on the Grand 1 I suggest you have a catered dinner on board.  Make it a minimum two hour cruise as one hour would not be enough.  A butler will be provided to serve you and make it such a special evening.  We have had a cake and champagne added for the celebration touch and if there are younger guests you can include some of the delicious cookies.  There really is just about anything possible when it comes to food items you would desire when catering the Grand 1.

If you are wishing for a more complete dining experience before you set sail I would suggest dining at Citricos.  You could also request the private wine room which is an additional treat for your evening.

To set up the catering for the Illuminations cruise please call the Yacht and Beach private dining cast.  Since this is a cruise that lasts only about an hour we have simply added either a specialty cake, cookies, and /or chocolate covered strawberries and champagne.  You will love your perch beneath the bridge to watch the show and hope for the wind to cooperate and be blowing away for that evening.

Your birthday will most likely be one of the most memorable ever!
