Hello, I’m celebrating my 50th birthday at Disney World with my two daughters. Any recommendation, please?!

    Hi Maryam,

Happy almost birthday! Walt Disney World is a wonderful place to celebrate any occasion, and a milestone one such as this will be fantastic. I love that you are bringing your daughters to celebrate with you. My family has celebrated many birthdays at Walt Disney World, and I am happy to share some of our favorite things to do for these occasions.

First, do be sure to stop by Guest Relations at any theme park or Disney Springs, or the front desk of a Disney resort hotel. At these locations, you can request a complimentary birthday button. You can have your name written on it and wear it on your birthday. While there is no special treatment guaranteed because you are wearing a birthday button, you never know when a little extra pixie dust might come your way. A Cast Member at The Plaza Restaurant once brought my daughter a cupcake heaped with icing when she noticed that my daughter was wearing a birthday button! Regardless of if something like this happens, it is really fun to hear other guests and Cast Members alike wishing you a happy birthday all day.

For a luxurious treat, perhaps you and your daughters could visit The Grand Floridian Spa. You could indulge in some pampering treatments, from manicures to massages. When I am traveling with friends, I like to have manicures or pedicures done here. You get all of the pampering of the spa and can enjoy the amenities there, and you can have your treatments together. Before or after your treatments, you could book some dining at Disney's Grand Californian Resort & Spa. This resort offers a range of delicious dining possibilities! You could book a casual yet delicious breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe, or perhaps an amazing signature dining experience at Narcoossee's, Citricos, or for a truly once-in-a-lifetime dining experience, the absolutely elevated Victoria & Albert's.

My fellow planDisney panelist Melanie recently also answered a question about celebrating a 50th birthday at Walt Disney World! I suggest that you check out the link I just provided to her answer. She has some great ideas about looking at the Enchanting Extras Collection for special birthday experiences. I especially love her thoughts on booking a Capture Your Moment session. These photography sessions help you to commemorate your special day. My daughter recently did a Capture Your Moment session with some friends for her high school graduation, and the memories are truly priceless.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Maryam. In the end, no matter what you do, being at Walt Disney World with your daughters to celebrate your 50th birthday will be magical. Please do feel free to come back to planDisney if we can help you with any further questions!
