Hello Teresa! Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It looks like you are planning an early fall trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! That is my favorite time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! The fall decorations around the resorts and the Disney Parks are beautiful!
Similar to your plan, we almost always book our reservation as soon as possible, and then call back to adjust our reservation in order to secure a sale price. While there is never a guarantee that you will receive the sale price for the same type of room, I can tell you that I have never had a problem with a Disney Cast Member being able to honor the sale price. I recommend that you call to adjust your reservation as soon as you see the sale price advertised because the rooms available at the sale price are limited. I believe this is technically considered a "cancel and rebook" but you won't lose any of the other reservations that you have made, such as Disney Dining Reservations.
While I have stayed at
Disney's Yacht Club Resort, I have not had the chance to stay in a room at
Disney's Beach Club Resort. However, due to the very close proximity, I can share that my wife and I prefer the decor of Disney's Yacht Club Resort. This resort feels more like a nautical, seaside resort much like you might find in New England. It is more formal than its next door neighbor, but not stuffy. Disney's Beach Club, on the other hand, has a more modern-day decor focused on sun, surf, and sand. It is important to note that these resorts share many of the same amenities including the popular pool known as
Stormalong Bay. This pool has the feel of a water park, which is great for kids and adventurous adults! A section of the pool is even sand-bottomed which is a really cool feature at this resort.
Finally, Teresa, since you are traveling at my favorite time of the year, I recommend that you consider a visit to
Magic Kingdom Park for
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! This is my favorite special event to attend! On select nights from late summer through the fall, Mickey and his pals "close" the Magic Kingdom Park to regular Guests and admit a more limited number of Guests who have purchased special tickets for this frightfully fun evening. Trick or treating around the Magic Kingdom is so much fun! You will also be treated to special Halloween-themed fireworks, parades, and character greetings! The party usually takes place from 7:00PM through midnight, but Guests holding tickets for this event are usually admitted to as early as 4:00PM!
Teresa, I am excited for you and your family! Please let the Disney Parks Moms Panel know if we can help as you continue to plan your fall vacation!
