Hello there Cindy, I'd like to wish you a very Royal welcome to planDisney!
I love being able to connect with fellow Canadians planning ahead to escape the wintery weather by making the trek down to Florida for their Walt Disney World Resort vacations, and I think it's an absolutely fantastic way to use up those points you've accumulated! It's very important to be mindful of the
Terms and Conditions of Disney Gift Cards as they pertain to Canadians, specifically the following information which needs to be very clearly stated and understood before using these cards:
- "When using the Disney Canada Gift Card for a transaction in the United States, then the transaction total will be converted from U.S. Dollars to Canadian Dollars and will be deducted from the balance of the Cardholder’s Disney Gift Card. Any remaining balance on the Cardholder’s Disney Gift Card will continue to be denominated in Canadian Dollars, although the balance shown on the receipt for the U.S. transaction will be in U.S. Dollars. Currency conversions are based on currency exchange rates applicable on the date of the applicable transaction, and no fees are charged for the currency conversion."
- In my personal experience, it has been very easy to use Disney Gift Cards to pay for our stay either via My Plans on the My Disney Experience or directly with the Front Desk Cast Members at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel; I just let them know that I'd like to pay for my balance with a Disney Gift Card and they were able to do it very quickly for us!
For our international guests, Disney Gift Cards have been immensely handy in being able to easily budget and track their spending as well as avoid any foreign transaction fees that their debit or credit cards may incur. I personally like to take advantage of the
Disney Gift Card eGift as a very easy digital alternative to use alongside the
My Disney Experience App when making Mobile Food & Beverage Orders throughout the Theme Parks!
As one of my
Princely Picks, Tips or Tricks, I find it super useful to always keep a photo or a screenshot of your Disney Gift Card readily available on your phone - you have no idea how often this has come in handy! Hope this helps Cindy, you're absolutely welcome to come back to planDisney again to
ask me any more questions ahead of your trip down to Walt Disney World Resort this year!
I'll be sure to give Cinderella a heads up that another Cindy will be visiting her kingdom real soon!
