Hi Moms! I'm from Canada and booked our upcoming trip Nov 28-Dec 5 (US Thanksgiving weekend - oops!). I'm kinda stressing out as I've heard the amount of guests at the parks is really high. I have a 5 yr old. Any tips?

Hi, Erinor!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am so excited to hEAR that you and your little one will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during the holiday season!  The holidays are a very popular time to experience some Disney magic.  You can expect crowd levels to be a little higher than normal during your visit, but Hakuna Matata - no worries!  With a little bit of planning, you can have a magical vacation no matter what the crowds are like.

First of all, it's great that you're planning your vacation so far in advance.  As you're counting down the months until your visit, I recommend doing a little resEARch on the Walt Disney World website to make a list of your must-do attractions, character experiences, and entertainment.  No matter how the crowd levels are, it's difficult to see and do it all, so this is a great way to prioritize.

As you get a bit closer to your trip, you will want to think about making your dining reservations.  You may begin to book your dining reservations 180 days before your arrival.  A nice, table-service meal is a great way to take a break and recharge when the theme parks are busy.  Since it's always good advice to start your Walt Disney World days early when the parks are at their least crowded, booking a pre-opening breakfast reservation inside one of the parks is a great way to get a jump start on the day.

You will also want to make your FastPass+ selections as soon as possible.  If you will be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you may do so 60 days before your arrival.  If you are staying elsewhere, you can make your FastPass+ selections 30 days in advance.  Speaking of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, they are a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the parks.  All of the convenient transportation options make it easy to escape to one of the nearby resort hotels.

When I visit during busier times, I also like to book an experience such as the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing so that I don't have to fight the crowds to find that perfect spot for viewing the fireworks.  A special treat like this is perfect during a holiday visit!
