Hi there, Christine. Welcome to planDisney. I am so glad you stopped by with this thoughtful question as you plan your
Disneyland Resort visit.
Christine, I completely understand wanting to take advantage of the California Resident ticket offer. At this time, a valid government issued California photo ID with an eligible ZIP code between 90000 and 96199 is the only accepted form of proof for purchasing and using the California Resident discounted tickets. Unfortunately, a passport on its own is not able to serve as proof of California residency for this offer.
There are still so many wonderful ways to experience the magic. Disneyland offers a variety of standard multi day
tickets and Park Hopper options that give you flexibility to spread out your visit, take midday breaks, and soak in all the details that make each land special. No matter which ticket you choose, the magic feels just as real the moment you step onto
Main Street, U.S.A., with the music playing and the scent of fresh popcorn in the air. Speaking of Main Street, U.S.A., you have to check out
Walt Disney - A Magical Life. Through Disney magic, this inspiring show at Main Street Opera House features Walt Disney telling his incredible story. It left me in tears, and feeling so connected Walt's legacy.
I see that you are planning on visiting this month! The good news is that January is a beautiful and often more relaxed time to visit the Disneyland Resort. Cooler weather makes it especially comfortable to explore the parks, enjoy classic attractions, and savor seasonal treats. Starting January 23, Disney California Adventure will be celebrating
Lunar New Year! A 31-day celebration welcoming the Year of the Horse with vibrant festivities and joyous tributes to Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures!
Christine, I hope this helps as you continue planning your visit. No matter which ticket option you land on, there are unforgettable memories waiting for you around every corner.
Wishing you many magical memories.
Kimberly
