Greetings Young Padawan,
Welcome to planDisney, Kristin! I sense the force is strong with you. You are correct: While theme park tickets are
nonrefundable, you can
change the date of a date-based theme park ticket for use in the future. Without knowing the specifics of your tickets, I can’t give you an exact timeline as to when the change needs to be made. I always say, the sooner, the better.
I recommend giving the Walt Disney World Resort
a call to verify your theme park ticket specifics so that you know exactly when you will have to make these changes. If you can hold off on purchasing their tickets, I would. Keep the
theme park reservation calendar handy, just in case you are planning on purchasing a ticket that may require a theme park reservation. Theme park tickets like the
Florida Resident Discover Disney Tickets will need a theme park reservation, so keep that in mind as you continue to plan for this visit.
Kristin, I hope that everything works out and that your family can join you for a trip to the parks. I love vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort, and doing so with my family makes it even more magical. My dad recently joined us on a completely spur-of-the-moment trip, and let me tell you, it’s now a core memory. We had planned the whole thing in three days, and while it was last-minute, it was truly magical.
As always, I recommend purchasing
Memory Maker when visiting the parks with family. It’s the best way to get everyone in the photo and the easiest way to preserve all the new memories you will be making. The PhotoPass photographers do an incredible job, and the attraction photos usually result in a good laugh.
Kristin, I hope that everything falls into place so that you all can enjoy the magic of Walt Disney World Resort together. In the meantime, if there’s anything else we can help with, you know where to find us!
May the Force be with you,
Shantel
