I'm buying military sitckets for my kids. I know I have to get them activated, and we will so so at Disney Springs. However, I don't really want to go with them to the parks, so my question is... do I also have to have a ticket?

    Hello Sarah!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for asking about important details for your Disney Military Salute tickets. Most importantly, thank you or your family member for your service to our nation which makes you eligible for this wonderful special offer.

One of the details in the policy for purchasing and using Disney Military Salute tickets is that you are limited to purchasing six per year, but the eligible service member (or spouse) must use one of those six tickets. Please see the policy language at the bottom of this page. In this case, you must purchase a ticket for yourself but do not have to enter a theme park with it after activation. I encourage you to see what could be possible together as a family for some fun in the theme parks, even if you’re not interested in a full day there with them, to use this great benefit of the discounted ticket and adhere to the policy. Please also note that children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 14 to enter the theme parks; depending on your children's ages you may be required to accompany them.

Please also be sure to make theme park reservations once you secure your tickets for each day you plan to visit, as this remains a requirement.

I’m glad you are familiar with the critical step to activate your Disney Military Salute tickets in person – the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs is a great location to do so prior to going to a theme park on your vacation. If not, any Guest Relations window at the entrance to each theme park can activate your tickets for use the rest of your visit with your valid Military Identification.

I hope this helps you understand what to expect for your upcoming visit, Sarah. Early January should be a great time in the parks with lower crowds than the recent holiday and comfortable weather. I hope you’re able to enjoy some laughs or thrills in the theme parks with your kids and make some great memories together on this special trip.

Thank you again for your service, and please let us know if you have any further questions as you finalize the details of your visit.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy
