I’m buying an annual pass for the first time in September! Does my whole family need one to get into the parks? I can’t find the answer. Sorry if it’s a silly question!

Hey there, Catherine! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Rest assured no question is a silly question around here!

Catherine, I've been a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder for several years now and I can honestly tell you that it is well worth the investment! My favorite perks are the complimentary theme park parking and discounts on food and merchandise throughout the year. Plus, being able to visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks any time I'd like is an added bonus!

Catherine, anyone who wishes to enter a Walt Disney World Theme Park must have valid theme park admission but it can look different for different people. Your Walt Disney World Annual Pass purchase is valid for one person who you assign the ticket to for the entire year. If you'd like to purchase an annual pass because you'll be going to Walt Disney World a few more times than your family, great! They will also need theme park admission but you can just do a standard theme park ticket for them if you prefer. If you and your family are planning on visiting the Walt Disney World Theme Parks a few times in the next year, then yes, everyone in your party would need to have their own annual pass. Does that make sense?

Some exciting news just came out about the Walt Disney World Annual Passes yesterday. It looks like you'll be able to purchase a brand new pass starting September 8, 2021. That's so exciting because I know so many people have been anxiously awaiting its return. With the release of new Walt Disney World Annual Passes, we are seeing some changes to the program as well. Now, out-of- state Guests only have one option to choose from when purchasing an Annual Pass. If you live out of state, your option is the new Disney Incredi-Pass. This includes unlimited visits to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks with no blackout dates and now passholders can hold up to 5 park pass reservations at a time without a resort stay. This is great news for us!

I hope I've answered some of your Walt Disney World Annual Pass questions today, Catherine. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
